Building Facilitation Capacity - circleindigo

A third sector charity providing support for children and young people

circleindigo delivered both core and high-performance facilitation skills training in-house to several cohorts of staff from the charity.

Business need

What circleindigo did

  • Consultation with the charities HR, Learning & Development and Organisational Change leadership teams
  • Designed and delivered highly participative and interactive two day facilitation skills training programmes at both a core and high performance skills level
  • Designed the training around the globally recognised International Association of Facilitators (IAF) core competency framework for Facilitators
  • Designed supporting workbooks for the two programmes
  • Drew on the knowledge of both the training Facilitators and the participants experience of both good and bad meetings and workshops
  • Enabled a safe environment for staff to practise their facilitation skills and competence
  • Provided constructive feedback for extending knowledge and skills
  • Provided on-going support to enable a number of charity staff to gain IAF Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF) status/certification

Outcomes

  • 30 plus charity staff trained in both core and high-performance facilitation skills
  • 8 staff successful in achieving Certified Professional Facilitator status/certification
  • Staff able to provide facilitation support to meeting and workshop requests throughout the charity/organisation
  • In year one the internal team saved the charity approximately £80,000.00 in external Facilitator fees
