Gary attended a one day training workshop on ‘Business Model Generation’ run by Alexander Osterwalder, co-Author of the great book ‘Business Model Generation’. This one day workshop outlined the theories, concepts and creation of the book.

The day was interactive and incorporated using the concepts and more specifically the ‘Business Model Canvas’ which is a visual representation of the 9 building blocks of Business Model generation.Throughout the day we experienced different facilitative techniques and processes to help deliver the workshop content, engage the participants and gather group feedback, thoughts and comments.

We also got to work on ‘real’ participant examples and on the Business Model Canvas itself, which was a fantastic way to embed the learning and identify any questions, thoughts and feedback that the group had.

Alex also used Adobe Ideas on an iPad to build and draw concepts and models (I downloaded this really useful App straight away!) and projected from the iPad up on to the big screen. This was a
really great way of ‘electronic flip-charting’ and was really engaging for the assembled group.

Alex’s book ‘Business Model Generation’ published by Wiley Publishers ISBN: 978-0-470-87641-1 can be found in all good business book stores or of course online!
